Sports Massage and Injury Therapist
Tri 3 Club Chairman and BTF Level 2 Tri Coach
My first excursion into the sport of triathlon came some 25 years ago - many years before it was the mass participation event it is now. I took part in two races in my home county of Devon, using an old mountain bike and having to borrow a bike helmet. I won both - there was no competition back then.
Having a young family, lack of time and finance put an end to any ambition I had to continue in the sport and I spent the next 20 years running many miles across Exmoor and taking part in a variety of races that have included the Himalayan 100mile trail race and Vancouver Marathon.
Moving to Lincolnshire in 2009 was the life change I needed to get me back into Triathlon. Six years on and now 51 yrs old, I have completed triathlon events ranging from sprint distance to ironman distance and including Celtman 2014 and Wasdale X in 2015.
I believe age is no barrier to what we want to achieve and that, with the right attitude and approach to training, anyone can realise their sporting goals. As a triathlon coach I aim to help our members realise their potential and succeed in whatever event or challenge they set themselves.
As club Chairman I strive to further develop the club so that our members, regardless of age, receive the best in coaching advice and support throughout their triathlon journey. As a club we aim to make your triathlon experience as rewarding and enjoyable as we can and welcome enquiries from all new and prospective members.
